Teire Business Cards turns your business card into an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet pass. It is made by Teire LLC (“we”). The short version: your cards stay on your phone, you don’t need an account, and we don’t track you.
What stays on your phone
- The cards you make or save, including their text, photos, logos and colors, are stored only on your iPhone or Android phone, inside the app.
- Scanning a paper card and reading its text happens on your phone, using the phone’s built-in tools.
- Your settings (appearance, app lock, purchases you’ve made) are stored on your phone.
- If you back up your phone (iCloud on iPhone, Google backup on Android), Apple or Google includes the app’s data in that backup, under your Apple or Google account.
What we send, and why
Apple Wallet and Google Wallet only accept passes that are digitally signed. When you add a card to Wallet or save it as a contact, the app sends that card’s details (text, colors and the images on the card) over an encrypted connection to our signing server, which returns the signed pass or contact file.
- The server uses the details only to build that one file and does not keep them.
- Our server logs record errors (for example “image too large”) but not the contents of your card.
- The signing server runs on Supabase in the United States. Like most web services, the hosting provider keeps short-lived technical logs of requests (such as time and IP address) for security and reliability.
- On Android, saving a pass to Google Wallet also sends the pass details to Google, which stores the pass in your Google Wallet under Google’s own privacy policy.
Convert a Card
Cards you make with Convert a Card (someone else’s paper card) are not saved in the app. They are deleted from the app once the pass is made, and the pass lives only in your Apple Wallet or Google Wallet.
What we don’t do
- No account is needed to use the app.
- No analytics, no advertising, and no tracking across other apps or websites.
- We don’t sell or share your information.
Purchases
Upgrades are bought through the App Store on iPhone or Google Play billing on Android. Apple or Google handles the payment; we never see your payment details. The app only learns which upgrades your Apple or Google account owns, so it can unlock them and restore them.
Permissions the app asks for
- Camera: to scan a paper business card. Photos are processed on your phone.
- Photos: only the pictures you choose, for example a card photo, logo or portrait.
- Contacts: only when you choose to save your card as a contact.
- Face ID or fingerprint / face unlock: only if you turn on the lock in Settings. Biometrics are handled by iOS or Android; the app never sees your face or fingerprint data.
- NFC (Android): only when you share your card by tapping phones.
Children
The app is a business tool and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Your choices
Delete a card in the app to remove it from your phone; delete the app to remove everything it stored. Passes already added to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet are managed in that Wallet app. Because we don’t keep your cards on our server, there is nothing for us to delete there.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. Significant changes will also be noted in the app’s release notes.
